Emerald Table of Hermes Trismegistus

I. True it is, without falsehood, certain and most true.
{ This is the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth. } II. That which is below is like that which is above, and that which is above is like that which is below, to accomplish the miracles of One Thing; and as all things have proceeded from One, by the meditation of One, so all things are born from this One Thing, by adaptation. { That which is above is the Divine. What is below is the creation. The Divine is like the creation; and the creation is like the Divine. This is so because the Divine is the creation and the creation is the Divine. Everything is part of the creation and the creation is the Divine. As above, so below. } III. The Sun is the Father thereof. The Moon is its Mother. { The Sun represents the masculine aspect of the Divine and the Moon the feminine. The Sun represents Father God and the Element of Fire. The Moon represents Mother God and the Element of Water. Fire or the masculine aspect of the Divine is the Father of Creation. Water or the feminine aspect of the Divine is the Mother of Creation. } { The Sun is a symbol for the Element of Fire and Fire represents intentions, aspirations, goals and plans, passions and desires. The Moon is a symbol for the Element of Water and Water represents love and caring, friendships, partnerships, romance, inner feelings and emotions. } IV. The Wind carried it in its belly. The Earth is its Nurse. { The Wind is the Element of Air and it represents thought, ideas, attitudes and awareness. To carry something in your belly is to conceive it. The Wind conceived the whole of creation. Creation is an idea in the Mind of the Divine. This is the first great secret revealed by the Emerald Tablet. } { The Creation was carried out by the masculine (Fire = Father) and feminine (Water = Mother) aspects of the Divine. Thus we have the Creator, Father and Mother aspect of the Divine. This is the first triad, the first trinity. In some religions this trinity is referred to as Father, Mother, Creator God. Inn others different names are used to convey the same meaning. } { The Earth represents the Element of Earth which is the manifestation, the physical reality in which we live. Everything we need to become who and what we want to become is here in this physical reality. The Earth is our nurse. It is here for us to use as we will in order to transform ourselves into the being we want to become. } { As above, so below. The creation of our own life is carried out by our mind (Air) working through our emotions (Water) and our intentions (Fire). Thus we manifest the creation in our own lives. We create ourselves. When we look in the mirror and say we don't like what we see, we are in error. We are exactly the way we intend to be. We are exactly the way we thought ourselves to be. This is the second great secret revealed by the Emerald Tablet. } V. The Father of all the works of wonder in the whole world is here. Its strength and power is complete if it be converted into earth. { The works of wonder in the whole world is the creation and the Father of this creation is the intention in the Mind of the Divine. The Father of the creation of our lives is our own intention in our own mind. The Divine Mind is here and now . Our mind is here and now. As above, so below. } { The strength and power of any idea is not in the thinking but in the manifesting. Manifesting is the process of turning ideas into Earth, the process of manifesting our ideas. The strength and power of the creation was not in thinking about it but in making it happen, in manifesting the ideas. The strength and power of our own lives is not in our thinking but in the things we do to manifest our thoughts in this physical reality. As above, so below. } VI. Separate the earth from the fire, the subtle from the gross, gently and with unremitting care. { We are instructed to separate the earth (the gross) from the fire (the subtle), the manifested (gross) from the intention (subtle) behind that manifestation. We are further instructed to separate our life from the intentions for our life gently and with great care. We are to look for the intentions behind the things in our life with acceptance, forgiveness and unconditional love. } { For example, if I am overweight in this lifetime, it is because my intention is to be overweight based on my own thoughts and ideas, emotions, beliefs and understanding. If I want to change that on the physical level, I must apply the laws of spiritual alchemy to my life and look within. I must look to find the intention behind my situation. But I must do this with acceptance of myself, forgiveness for myself and unconditional love for myself. The is not the time to judge or condemn myself. It is a time to find the truth about myself. My intention is in error or I wouldn't be overweight. I must find that intention to solve my weight problem. } { All of spiritual healing is based on this concept of finding the intention behind the disease. Then the healer digs deeper to find the emotion behind the intention. Then the healer works to discover the original thought or idea that created the belief leading to this emotion in the first place. It's a progression from thought to emotion to intention and to manifestation. The healer works in reverse from the manifestation to the intention to the emotion and to the though behind it all. This is the spiritual alchemy process. } VII. It ascends from the earth to the heaven, and again descends to the earth, and thereby gathers to itself the strength of things above, and of things below. { Here it is. Spiritual alchemy teaches us to find the intention (Fire) behind the manifestation (Earth). So we start with the thing we want to change and look for the intention that supports this thing. Once we find the intention we've moved up the ladder from the World of Earth to the World of Fire. We more up in vibration as we move from the World of Earth to the World of Fire. } { In the World of Fire we look for the emotion (Water) behind and supporting that harmful intention. We search gently by accepting, forgiving and accepting ourselves. Supporting every disease is an emotion. Without emotion, intentions can not manifest. Find the emotion underlying the intention and we move one more step up the ladder into the World of Water. Find the emotion supporting the intention and we raise our vibration one more time. } { In the World of Water we search for the erroneous thought behind that emotion. We search with acceptance, forgiveness and love. Supporting every emotion is a thought for if there is no thought, no emotion can arise. Find the thought supporting the emotion and we rise into the World of Air, we move one more step up the ladder from earth to heaven. We move up in vibration once again. } {At this point we can chose to change our thinking Air). The result is we change our emotion (Water) which changes our intention (Fire) and that changes the result we experience in this physical reality Earth). But we have another choice. We can choose to gather our strength by communing with the Divine. (The Divine is represented by heaven and the Divine is the Element of Spirit.) By gathering our strength through communion with the Divine we remove false thoughts that cause negative or hurtful emotions and harmful intentions than manifest as pain and suffering in our lives. We replace these things with truthful thoughts, nurturing and loving emotions, supporting and helpful intentions and radiant health and abundance in our lives. As above, so below. } VIII. By this means, all the glory of the world shall be yours, and all obscurity shall flee from you. It is the strong strength of all strength. For it shall overcome every subtle thing, and penetrate every solid thing. { The glory of the world is the promise of the Garden of Eden. That garden exists here on earth for some people. Other people in this incarnation live in Hades or Hell. We can choose to find heaven or earth right here and now because that's where heaven and earth are - right here and right now. As above, so below is very true but it has everything to do with who and what we are. We are what we choose to be by our own thoughts and ideas. Change these and we change ourselves. Finding these thoughts and ideas is the work of spiritual alchemy. } { Obscurity feels because we open our eyes and we see the cause of our pain and suffering. Our own good thoughts empowered by loving emotions and right intentions creates our Garden of Eden because these things are the strong strength of all strength. They have the power to change everything. There is nothing we cannot change about ourselves if we tap into this power. There is nothing other people cannot change about themselves if we help them tap into this power. There is nothing we as a people cannot accomplish if we all tap into this power. } { This power can change every subtle thing like thoughts and ideas, beliefs and attitudes (Air), emotions, love, peace and courage, friendships and relationships (Water), and intentions, passions, drive and intensity (Fire). This power penetrates every solid thing because by using this power we transform ourselves (Earth) into the person we want to be.
IX. Thus was the world created. Hence shall wonderful adaptations be achieved, of which the means is here. { This is the way the Divine created everything that has been created, is creating everything that is being created, and will create everything that will be created. This is the way we have created our lives, are creating our life now, and will create our own lives in the future. This is the way of things. This is the third great secret of the Emerald Tablet. } X. Therefore I am called Hermes Trismegistus. For I hold three parts of the philosophy of the whole world. That which I had to say concerning the operation of the Sun is completed. { Hermes Trismegistus (usually pronounced try' - muh - jis' - tuhs) was probably an initiatic title bestowed upon spiritual alchemists who completed their work. The name Trismegistus translates roughly into three-times honored person. This refers to the three alchemical marriages wherein each marriage is an honor. These three alchemical marriages are the three parts of the philosophy of the whole world. } { The first alchemical marriage is called The Awakening or The Confirmation and it occurs when we pierce the first veil, the Veil of Ignorance. The second alchemical marriage is called The Resurrection and it occurs when we pierce the second veil, the Veil of Ignorance. The third alchemical marriage is called The Ascension and it occurs when we pierce the third veil, the Veil of Reflection. } { This is the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth. The Sun is the Father aspect of the Divine and all of us. Each of us creates our own life with the blessing of the Divine just as the Divine first created us. As above, so below. }
